Goerg & Schneider Creaton 373 is a vacuum-packed stoneware clay body containing 30% grog and developing gray, anthracite, and black fired tones. Its 0–0.5 mm grog content makes it suitable for shaping small and medium-sized ceramic pieces. As the firing temperature increases, the body shows a distinct color transition from light gray to anthracite and black.

Hand Building
Suitable for slab building, coil building, and free-form modeling techniques used to produce decorative objects, vases, planters, and three-dimensional stoneware pieces.
Small & Medium-Sized Forms
The 30% grog content supports small and medium-sized pieces during forming and drying, helping them maintain their shape.
Textured Surface Applications
The 0–0.5 mm grog particles create a natural and pronounced surface texture. Carving, combing, and relief techniques may be applied at the leather-hard stage.
Dark Unglazed Surfaces
Light gray tones may develop at lower firing temperatures, while the surface gradually shifts toward anthracite and black as the temperature increases. This color development can be used effectively in unglazed decorative surfaces.
Glazing Applications
Stoneware glazes compatible with the 1000–1240°C firing range may be used. The dark clay body may alter the appearance of transparent and light-colored glazes.
COLOR DEVELOPMENT NOTICE
The final fired color may vary depending on firing temperature, kiln atmosphere, soaking time, and wall thickness. Test tiles should be prepared at different temperatures to determine the desired gray, anthracite, or black tone.
DRYING NOTICE
Thick, wide, or assembled forms should be dried slowly and evenly. Rapid or uneven drying may cause cracking and deformation.
GLAZE COMPATIBILITY NOTICE
The dark clay body may affect the color, opacity, and surface response of certain glazes. The selected glaze should be tested for compatibility with the clay body and intended firing temperature before full-scale production.
