Stoneware Glazing

• High-Temperature Firing: These bisque pieces are suitable for firing at temperatures between 1200°C and 1280°C. At these temperatures, the body fully matures and vitrifies, reducing water absorption to a minimum.
• Artistic Glazes: Creaton 8251 clay works exceptionally well with fluid and effect stoneware glazes, minimizing the risk of crackling on the surface.

Decorating Techniques

• Underglaze and Overglaze: Modern graphic designs can be applied to the surface using stoneware-compatible colors. The wide base allows brushstrokes to be used freely.
• Natural Texture: If desired, the exterior of the plate can be left unglazed while only the interior surface is glazed, highlighting the distinctive natural texture of the stoneware clay.

Production Details

Our products are manufactured using industrial-standard Creaton 8251 clay and the slip-casting method. Due to the handcrafted production processes, there may be slight differences in dimensions or very subtle variations in color between products. These variations indicate that each piece has been individually handcrafted.

Important Considerations

• Before glazing, remove any dust from the bisque surface with a damp sponge.
• Always carry out a small test firing to ensure that the coefficient of thermal expansion of the glaze is compatible with the stoneware clay.
• Technical errors during firing or the use of an incorrect firing schedule are the responsibility of the user.
