RD27 Porcelain Kiln is a 27-liter front-loading chamber kiln developed for the controlled firing of porcelain, stoneware, high-fire clay bodies and glazes. With a maximum operating temperature of 1320°C, it can be used for both low-fire and high-fire glaze and clay applications. Due to its compact capacity, it is more suitable for porcelain samples, glaze and clay recipe testing, small-batch product firings and R&D work than high-volume production. It can also be used in a home environment when the required installation and electrical conditions are provided.

Controlled Porcelain Firing up to 1320°C

RD27 offers a wide operating temperature range for firing ceramic bodies that require high temperatures, such as porcelain and stoneware. It can be used for small porcelain forms, test tiles, mugs, bowls, small vases and various sample pieces.

Its 27-liter internal capacity is useful for users who want to test a new porcelain clay body, stoneware body or glaze recipe before operating a larger kiln.

With a maximum temperature of 1320°C, it can be used with porcelain, stoneware, high-fire clay bodies and high-fire glazes as well as low-fire ceramic clay bodies and low-fire glazes. The firing temperature specified by the manufacturer of each material should be followed.

Robust Kiln Construction for High-Fire Applications

The 1430°C-resistant high-density alumina bricks used in the RD27 firing chamber help retain heat inside the kiln during firings up to 1320°C. A robust insulation structure is particularly important for high-fire porcelain and stoneware firings.

The Kanthal A1 heating elements used in the heating system are high-quality resistance elements preferred for high-temperature applications. The coordinated operation of the heating elements, insulation, thermocouple and control system supports consistent and repeatable results in high-fire applications.

Technical Design of the RD27 Porcelain Kiln

RD27 combines a 27-liter working capacity, 1320°C maximum temperature, programmable control system and high-temperature-resistant kiln components. Its design is suitable for controlled testing of porcelain, stoneware, high-fire glazes and clay bodies.

Digital Program Control

With the RF860 controller, temperature increases, target temperatures and hold times can be adjusted according to the porcelain or stoneware firing program.

Temperature Monitoring

The thermocouple system measures the temperature inside the kiln and helps the programmed firing curve progress in a controlled manner.
