Technical Details and Application

Painting and Glazing

Refsan underglaze ready-to-use paints are highly compatible with this bisque. Firing is the essential final step to transform the porous bisque into a professional ceramic decor piece with vibrant, lasting colors.

  • Ceramic Firing: Fire between 1040°C and 1050°C for a resilient and high-gloss surface.
  • Tile (Çini) Firing: Ideal for classical "Çini" motifs at 900°C – 920°C.

Decorative Use with Acrylic Paint

  • Suitable for display-only decorative projects (no kiln firing required).
  • Safety Warning: Acrylic-finished plaques are not food-safe and should not be used in contact with health-sensitive materials.
  • A protective varnish is recommended post-painting to preserve the design and protect the surface.

Craftsmanship & Handcrafted Variations

Fired at 1050°C to reach its sturdy bisque state, each Pitcher Plaque carries the unique marks of artisanal production. Natural variations in thickness, size, or clay tone are hallmarks of authentic handcrafted pottery, ensuring every piece has its own unique character.

Firing Safety & Guidelines

  • Surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned of dust and completely dry before applying glaze.
  • Strictly follow the temperature requirements of your specific glaze type.
  • Performing a test fire is suggested to observe how kiln atmosphere influences the final bisque color.
