OZZ GLAZE YD-920 Stain is an artistic high-fire glaze that creates reactive speckles, stain-like transitions and textured color variations across the surface. Its low-flow character helps preserve surface details on vertical forms. After firing, it produces a dynamic, speckled surface that varies depending on application thickness and the clay body used.

Food Safe: This glaze is suitable for surfaces that come into contact with food when proper application and firing conditions are followed.
Sample Application Information: The samples shown in the product images were brush-applied to high-fire clay bodies and fired at 1210°C. Different clay bodies and firing schedules may alter the final appearance.

Application Notes

  • Mixing: Mix the product regularly before and during application to ensure an even distribution of the components that create the speckled and stain-like effects.
  • Coat application: For brush application, apply 2-3 even coats to the bisque-fired surface, allowing sufficient drying time between coats.
  • Thickness effect: Application thickness may affect the density of the speckles, the distribution of the stain-like transitions and the tonal depth across the surface.
  • Reactive character: The intensity of the speckled and stain-like effects may vary depending on peak temperature, kiln atmosphere, hold time and cooling schedule.
