Technical Details and Application

Painting and Glazing

Refsan underglaze ready-to-use paints are highly compatible with this XL pitcher. For functional beverage service, applying a lead-free, non-porous glaze is essential for hygiene and a durable, high-gloss finish.

  • Ceramic Firing: Fire between 1040°C and 1050°C for a professional and structural finish.
  • Tile (Çini) Firing: Traditional tile glazes maturing at 900°C – 920°C are ideal for showcasing refined artisanal motifs on its large surface.

Decorative Use with Acrylic Paint

  • Suitable only for display-oriented decorative projects (no kiln firing required).
  • Safety Warning: Items finished with acrylics are not food-safe. Do not use for serving liquids if finished with acrylic paint. A protective varnish is highly recommended.

Craftsmanship & Variations

Fired at 1050°C to reach its sturdy bisque state, each XL Jug reflects the authentic touch of artisanal production. Natural variations in wall thickness, size, or clay tone are hallmarks of authentic handcrafted pottery, ensuring every jug is unique.

Firing Safety & Guidelines

  • Surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned of dust and dried before applying glaze.
  • Strictly follow the temperature requirements of the specific glaze type used.
  • Performing a test fire is suggested to observe how the kiln atmosphere influences the final bisque color.
