• Wipe the mold with a damp sponge before use to remove dust and particles.
• Mix the casting slip thoroughly (using an electric mixer or wooden spoon).
• Prepare the slip one day in advance and use sodium silicate (glass water) during preparation.
• Pour the slip slowly until the mold is filled to the brim.
• Depending on weather conditions, 2–4 casts can be made per day.

The exterior edges of the mold may be irregular; this does not affect the quality of the internal cast. The critical factor is the integrity of the inner surface.
