Watermelon Vase Ceramic Bisque

Watermelon Vase Ceramic Bisque is an unglazed ceramic bisque product designed for painting, glazing, and personalized decoration projects, featuring a wide curved body, segmented surface, and stable base.

Its defined body sections provide a suitable workspace for underglazes, ceramic glazes, ceramic paints, color transitions, botanical motifs, and various texture applications. Thanks to its wide opening, it can be used for voluminous floral arrangements or displayed as a standalone decorative object.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The product is supplied as fired but unglazed ceramic bisque. To make it suitable for holding water, its inner surface must be completely coated with suitable ceramic glazes and refired at the recommended temperature of the glaze used. It must also be tested for leaks before use.

Application and Firing Notes

  • Before painting, dust on the surface must be removed with a clean, dry brush.
  • The firing temperature must be determined according to the technical specifications of the paint and glaze used.
  • Care must be taken to prevent excessive paint or glaze buildup in the curved and recessed sections of the body.
  • The glaze thickness around the opening must be carefully controlled, taking the risk of running into consideration.
  • When using reactive or flowing glazes, potential glaze movement toward the base must be considered.
  • The base must be kept free of glaze when the product is placed in the kiln.
  • For products intended for use with water, the inner surface must be glazed completely and without gaps.
  • After firing, the surface must be inspected for cracks, pinholes, sharp edges, and unglazed areas.
WATER USE WARNING: Glazing the product alone does not guarantee that it will be watertight. The correct glaze and firing schedule must be used, and the product must be filled with water for a period of time to test for leaks before use.

Handcraftsmanship and Product Variations

Due to the ceramic production process, slight variations may occur between products in terms of dimensions, weight, surface texture, color tone, segmented body structure, and shape. These variations do not affect use and result from the product’s natural manufacturing process.

TEST RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended to perform a small test before application to check the compatibility of the selected paint and glaze with the product, the result they produce on the curved surfaces, and their firing behavior.
