Vase M101 Ceramic Bisque

The M101 is an elegant vase model meticulously hand-thrown on the potter's wheel. Unlike mass-produced cast items, each M101 vase is a unique product of artisanal craftsmanship, providing a high-quality bisque surface for professional ceramic artists and hobbyists to showcase their creativity.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This product is wheel-thrown, not slip-cast. Due to its handcrafted nature, slight variations in dimensions and thickness are expected.

Delivered in bisque (unglazed) form. Professional glazing and kiln firing are mandatory to make it waterproof and durable for holding flowers.

Technical Details and Application

Painting and Glazing

Refsan underglaze ready-to-use paints are highly compatible with the authentic wheel-thrown surface of the M101. Firing is the mandatory final step to transform the porous bisque into a non-porous ceramic artwork.

  • Ceramic Application: Fire between 1040°C and 1050°C for a professional, high-gloss, and durable finish.
  • Tile (Çini) Application: Traditional tile glazes maturing at 900°C – 920°C can be used for refined, artisanal patterns.

Decorative Use with Acrylic Paint

  • Suitable for display-only decorative projects using acrylic paints (no kiln firing required).
  • Safety Warning: Acrylic-finished surfaces are not food-safe and should not be used in contact with water or health-sensitive materials.
  • Finish with a protective varnish post-painting to maintain the decorative integrity.

Craftsmanship & Handcrafted Variations

Fired at 1050°C to reach its sturdy bisque state, each Vase M101 is unique. Natural variations in thickness, size, or clay tone (white vs. red clay) are natural hallmarks of authentic hand-thrown pottery, ensuring every piece carries its own character.

Firing Safety & Guidelines

  • Surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned of dust and completely dry before applying glaze.
  • Strictly follow the temperature requirements of your specific glaze (Ceramic or Tile).
  • Performing a test fire is suggested to observe how kiln variations affect the final bisque color.
