Technical Details and Application

Painting and Glazing

Refsan underglaze ready-to-use paints are highly compatible with this twisted form. The spiral geometry of the vase is particularly well-suited for ombré glazing effects or linear patterns that emphasize the twist.

  • Ceramic Firing: Fire between 1040°C and 1050°C for a professional, high-gloss, and resilient finish.
  • Tile (Çini) Firing: Traditional tile glazes maturing at 900°C – 920°C are excellent for showcasing refined, intricate artisanal motifs.

Decorative Use with Acrylic Paint

  • Suitable only for display-oriented indoor projects (no kiln firing required).
  • Safety Warning: Acrylic-finished items are not waterproof. Do not use for fresh flowers with water if finished with acrylic paint. A protective varnish is highly recommended.

Craftsmanship & Variations

Fired at 1050°C to reach its sturdy bisque state, each Twist Vase reflects the unique touch of artisanal production. Natural variations in wall thickness, spiral symmetry, or clay tone are hallmarks of authentic handcrafted pottery.

Firing Safety & Guidelines

  • Surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned of dust and dried before applying glaze.
  • Strictly follow the temperature requirements of the specific glaze type used.
  • Performing a test fire is suggested to observe how the kiln atmosphere influences the final bisque color.
