Tree of Life Tabtab Plaster Mold
A single-piece plaster mold designed for producing decorative ceramic objects
in the Tree of Life form. Thanks to its flat-back product form, it is suitable
for wall decoration, decorative panels, and thematic ceramic projects.
The mold can be used with both the Tabtab (pressing) method and the slip casting method.

Dimension Information:
The finished product dimensions are measured from the ceramic bisque piece.
Final product dimensions may vary depending on the shrinkage rate of the clay
and the firing temperature.
Tabtab (Vacuum-Deaired Clay) Application
In the Tabtab method, vacuum-deaired plastic clay is placed onto the forming
surface of the mold and shaped by pressing and compacting it by hand.
This method provides fast forming, particularly for serial production.
- The vacuum-deaired plastic clay should be placed evenly onto the mold surface.
- The clay should be pressed evenly into the branches, roots, and surface details of the Tree of Life form.
- The back of the product should be finished as evenly and flat as possible.
- Once the formed product reaches sufficient firmness, it should be carefully removed from the mold.
Casting Slip Application
The mold can also be used with earthenware, ceramic, stoneware, and porcelain
casting slips. The wall thickness and casting time may vary depending on
the characteristics of the clay used.
- It is recommended to mix the casting slip thoroughly until homogeneous before casting.
- The casting slip should be applied to the mold in a controlled manner.
- The casting slip should reach the surface evenly to ensure that the fine branch and root details of the Tree of Life form are formed correctly.
- The mold should be allowed to dry sufficiently between uses.
Warning:
When used with the slip casting method, it is not suitable for stone powder,
plaster, concrete, resin, or similar non-ceramic casting materials.
Usage and Drying
Wet Mold Warning:
Depending on production intensity, the mold may occasionally be shipped
while still damp or wet. In this case, it should be left to
air-dry naturally for 1–2 days in a well-ventilated area
before use.
Minor deformation may occur on the outer surface, edges, or corners
of the mold during transportation. The mold can still be used as long as
there is no damage to the forming surface that would affect the product
or interfere with the production process.
Mold Lifespan:
The lifespan of the mold may vary depending on the clay used, production frequency,
drying conditions, and method of use.
