Underglaze paints are used in ceramic and tile art to decorate clay objects before glazing. These paints penetrate the pores of the clay, creating a permanent color and pattern.
Areas of Use: Decoration of ceramic, porcelain, and tile plates, cups, vases, and other decorative objects Pattern creation for wall tiles and floor coverings Coloring of sculptures and figurines Decorative use in architectural applications
Features: Specially produced for underglaze application. Water-based. Can be re-mixed with water after drying. Suitable for firing temperatures between 900–1200°C. Color may vary depending on the firing temperature of the glaze applied over it. Food safety depends on the glaze applied on top.
Instructions for Use: After application, the paint appears pale. It reaches its true color after glazing. The paint should be applied evenly. It can be applied using a brush, sponge, or spray gun. Before application, make sure the bisque surface is clean and dry. If applying multiple coats, allow the previous layer to dry completely. Excessive layering may prevent the glaze from adhering properly and cause glazing defects. After applying the paint, allow it to dry, then apply glaze and fire at the glaze’s recommended firing temperature. Firing instructions for both the object and the glaze should be followed carefully.
Warnings: Keep the paint out of reach of children and pets. Harmful if swallowed. In case of eye contact, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water.
