Tea Glass Ceramic Bisque

The Tea Glass Ceramic Bisque features the iconic "thin-waisted" (ince belli) silhouette, a staple of traditional Turkish tea culture. This high-quality ceramic bisque offers a delicate and smooth surface, making it an excellent canvas for detailed underglaze painting, creative glazing, or traditional "Çini" artisanal motifs. Its balanced form provides a comfortable grip and a timeless aesthetic for your tea service.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This product is delivered in bisque (unglazed) form. To make the glass food-safe, waterproof, and heat-resistant for serving hot tea, professional glazing and kiln firing are mandatory.

Technical Details and Application

Painting and Glazing

Refsan underglaze ready-to-use paints are highly compatible with this bisque. For functional use, applying a lead-free, non-porous glaze is essential for a hygienic and high-gloss finish.

  • Ceramic Application: Fire between 1040°C and 1050°C for a professional and durable surface.
  • Tile (Çini) Application: Traditional tile glazes maturing at 900°C – 920°C are perfect for showcasing refined patterns on the delicate curves.

Decorative Use with Acrylic Paint

  • Suitable only for display-oriented decorative projects (no kiln firing required).
  • Safety Warning: Items finished with acrylics are not food-safe. Do not use for drinking if finished with acrylic paint. A protective varnish is recommended after painting.

Craftsmanship & Variations

Fired at 1050°C to reach its sturdy bisque state, each Tea Glass reflects the unique touch of artisanal production. Natural variations in thickness, size, or clay tone are hallmarks of authentic handcrafted pottery, ensuring every piece is unique.

Firing Safety & Guidelines

  • Surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned of dust and dried before applying glaze.
  • Strictly follow the temperature requirements of the specific glaze type used.
  • Performing a test fire is suggested to observe how the kiln atmosphere influences the final bisque color.
