Sphere Jar Ceramic Bisque

The Sphere Jar Ceramic Bisque features a perfectly balanced, timeless globular design. Each piece is meticulously hand-thrown on a potter's wheel, ensuring a unique artisanal quality that mass-produced items cannot replicate. This high-quality bisque provides a smooth and spacious surface, ideal for intricate underglaze painting, creative glazing, or traditional "Çini" patterns. It is an excellent choice for a decorative centerpiece or a high-end storage jar.

ARTISANAL QUALITY: As these jars are handcrafted on the potter's wheel, each one is unique. Minor variations in wall thickness and size (±2%) are a testament to their authentic handmade nature.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This product is delivered in bisque (unglazed) form. To make the jar food-safe, waterproof, and durable for storage use, professional glazing and kiln firing are mandatory.

Technical Details and Application

Painting and Glazing

Refsan underglaze ready-to-use paints are highly compatible with this bisque. For functional storage use, ensuring a lead-free, non-porous glazed finish is essential for hygiene and structural durability.

  • Ceramic Application: Fire between 1040°C and 1050°C for a professional, high-gloss finish.
  • Tile (Çini) Application: Traditional tile glazes maturing at 900°C – 920°C are perfect for showcasing refined artisanal motifs.

Decorative Use with Acrylic Paint

  • Suitable only for display-oriented decorative projects (no kiln firing required).
  • Safety Warning: Items finished with acrylics are not food-safe. A protective varnish is recommended after acrylic application.

Craftsmanship & Handcrafted Variations

Fired at 1050°C to reach its sturdy bisque state, each Sphere Jar reflects the human touch. Natural variations in clay tone and size occur based on the type of clay used, adding to the product's character.

Firing Safety & Guidelines

  • Surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned of dust and dried before applying glaze.
  • Strictly follow the temperature requirements of the specific glaze type used.
  • Performing a test fire is suggested to observe how kiln atmosphere influences the final bisque color.
