SP 1376 Golden - Artistic High-Fire Glaze

SP 1376 Golden is a reactive, satin-matte high-fire glaze that produces warm golden-beige, honey, and hazy cream tones. Golden-beige tones become richer across recessed and flat areas, while light cream transitions develop over edges, raised details, and elevated areas to give the form natural depth. Its simple, timeless color character creates balanced surfaces on modern, minimalist, and natural stone-inspired forms.

Food Safe: This glaze is suitable for surfaces that come into contact with food when proper application and firing conditions are followed.

Application and Golden Effect Notes

  • Reactive transitions: Golden-beige and honey tones may intensify and pool in recessed areas, while the glaze may become thinner over raised and elevated areas, producing hazy cream and lighter variegated transitions.
  • Brush application: Applying 3 coats is recommended for a rich, silky surface. Allow the surface to dry completely between coats and apply each coat in a different direction.
  • Clay body selection: Golden-beige and cream transitions appear cleaner and clearer on white high-fire clay bodies. Speckled or grogged clay bodies may produce more rustic surfaces with a natural stone character.
  • Application thickness: Thicker applications may deepen the golden and honey tones. Lighter, creamier transitions may appear over thinly glazed edges and raised details.
  • Dipping and pouring: Depending on the required application consistency, 5-10% water may be added. Add water gradually and in a controlled manner.
Important Recommendation: The appearance of reactive and satin-matte glazes may vary depending on application thickness, clay body, kiln atmosphere, firing schedule, and cooling rate. Testing on a sample tile before the main application is recommended.
