SP 1230 Bamboo - Artistic High-Fire Glaze

Depending on application thickness, earthy variations, dark pooling, and natural color transitions may develop across the surface. It creates warm, distinctive surfaces on tableware, decorative forms, and organic designs.

Food Safe: This glaze is suitable for surfaces that come into contact with food when proper application and firing conditions are followed.

Application and Bamboo Effect Notes

  • Reactive character: The distribution of bamboo yellow, olive green, and brown tones may vary depending on application thickness, form, and firing conditions.
  • Brush application: Applying 3 coats is recommended for a rich, balanced surface. Allow the surface to dry completely between coats and apply each coat in a different direction.
  • Mixing: Mix the product thoroughly before application to distribute the color- and variation-forming components evenly across the surface. Stir again at regular intervals during application.
  • Clay body selection: Bamboo-yellow tones appear lighter on white high-fire clay and porcelain bodies. Olive-green and brown tones may become more dominant on dark or speckled clay bodies.
  • Application thickness: Dark brown pooling and reactive variations may intensify in thicker applications. Lighter yellow and olive tones may appear over thinly glazed edges and raised details.
  • Textured surfaces: Reactive components may concentrate in recessed and raised areas, making the relief details of the form more pronounced.
  • Dipping and pouring: Depending on the required application consistency, 5-10% water may be added. Add water gradually and in a controlled manner.
Important Recommendation: The appearance of soft-matte and reactive glazes may vary depending on application thickness, clay body, kiln atmosphere, firing schedule, and cooling rate. Testing on a sample tile before the main application is recommended.
