SG 1508 Marmara - Ceramingo Artistic High-Fire Glaze

SG 1508 Marmara is a reactive artistic high-fire glaze that creates softly transitioning light blue tones reminiscent of the morning mist and calm waters of the Sea of Marmara. Yellow and gold-toned variegation appearing across parts of the surface emphasizes the glaze’s dynamic character and gives the pottery form natural depth.

Application Notes

  • Reactive character: Soft, misty blue tones develop across flat surfaces, while yellow or gold-toned variegation may appear in recessed and contoured areas.
  • Brush application: For a balanced and saturated surface, applying 3 coats is recommended. Allow the surface to dry between coats and apply each coat in a different direction.
  • Clay body selection: Blue tones appear clearer on white and light-colored high-fire clay bodies. Reactive transitions may emphasize the details of textured surfaces.
  • Dipping and pouring: Depending on the required application consistency, 5-10% water may be added. Add water gradually and in controlled amounts.
  • Mixing: Mix the product thoroughly before application to distribute the reactive components evenly.
Important Recommendation: The appearance of reactive glazes may vary depending on application thickness, the clay body, kiln atmosphere, and cooling rate. Testing on a sample tile before the main application is recommended.
