SG 1503 Maldives - Ceramingo Artistic High-Fire Glaze

SG 1503 Maldives is a satin-matte, reactive artistic high-fire glaze that creates mint green and light turquoise tones. Pastel turquoise intensifies across flat and recessed surfaces, while creamy transitions develop around edges, raised details, and elevated areas, giving pottery forms soft and natural depth.

Food Safe: This glaze is suitable for surfaces that come into contact with food when proper application and firing conditions are followed.

Application Notes

  • Reactive character: Pastel turquoise may intensify in recessed areas, while the glaze may thin around edges and raised details to create light, creamy transitions.
  • Brush application: For a saturated and silky surface, applying 3 coats is recommended. Allow the surface to dry completely between coats and apply each coat in a different direction.
  • Clay body selection: Colors appear cleaner and fresher on white high-fire clay bodies. Speckled or grogged clay bodies may produce more rustic and dynamic results.
  • Dipping and pouring: Depending on the required application consistency, 5-10% water may be added. Add water gradually and in controlled amounts.
  • Mixing: Mix the product thoroughly before application to distribute the reactive components evenly.
Important Recommendation: The appearance of reactive glazes may vary depending on application thickness, the clay body, kiln atmosphere, and cooling rate. Testing on a sample tile before the main application is recommended.
