SG 1376 Golden - Ceramingo Artistic High-Fire Glaze

SG 1376 Golden is a reactive artistic high-fire glaze that creates warm golden-beige, honey, and misty cream tones with a satin-matte finish. Golden-beige tones become more saturated across flat and recessed areas, while light cream transitions develop around edges, raised details, and elevated areas to give the form natural depth. It produces calm, timeless surfaces on modern and minimalist pottery forms with a natural stone aesthetic.

Food Safe: This glaze is suitable for surfaces that come into contact with food when proper application and firing conditions are followed.

Application and Golden Effect Notes

  • Reactive transitions: Golden-beige and honey tones may become saturated and pool in recessed areas, while the glaze may become thinner across raised and elevated areas, creating misty cream and light-colored variegation.
  • Brush application: For a saturated and silky surface, applying 3 coats is recommended. Allow the surface to dry completely between coats and apply each coat in a different direction.
  • Clay body selection: Golden-beige and cream transitions appear cleaner and clearer on white high-fire clay bodies. Speckled or grogged clay bodies may produce more rustic surfaces with a natural stone character.
  • Application thickness: Thicker applications may deepen the golden and honey tones. Lighter, creamier transitions may develop around thinly coated edges and raised details.
  • Dipping and pouring: Depending on the required application consistency, 5-10% water may be added. Add water gradually and in controlled amounts.
Important Recommendation: The appearance of reactive and satin-matte glazes may vary depending on application thickness, the clay body, kiln atmosphere, firing schedule, and cooling rate. Testing on a sample tile before the main application is recommended.
