SG 1308 September - Ceramingo Artistic High-Fire Glaze

SG 1308 September is an artistic high-fire glaze that creates golden brown, amber, caramel, and warm earth tones with layered transitions. Depending on application thickness, brown and amber transitions of varying intensity may develop across the surface. It produces warm and distinctive surfaces on rustic tableware, naturally styled pottery forms, and decorative pieces.

Food Safe: This glaze is suitable for surfaces that come into contact with food when proper application and firing conditions are followed.

Application and September Effect Notes

  • Transitional character: Golden brown and amber tones may deepen as application thickness increases. Lighter and earthier transitions may develop around thinly coated edges and raised details.
  • Brush application: The glaze can be applied directly over a bisque surface. For a saturated surface, applying 3 coats is recommended. Allow the surface to dry completely between coats and apply each coat in a different direction.
  • Clay body selection: Golden brown and amber tones appear clearer on white high-fire clay bodies. Dark, speckled, or grogged clay bodies may produce more rustic and substantial surfaces.
  • Mixing: Mix the product thoroughly before application to distribute the color-forming components evenly across the surface. Stir again at regular intervals during application.
  • Dipping and pouring: Depending on the required application consistency, 5-10% water may be added. Add water gradually and in controlled amounts.
  • Storage: Keep the product in its sealed packaging, away from direct sunlight, and at room temperature.
Important Recommendation: The appearance of artistic glazes with layered transitions may vary depending on application thickness, the clay body, kiln atmosphere, firing schedule, and cooling rate. Testing on a sample tile before the main application is recommended.
