SG 1270 Autumn is an artistic high-fire glaze that creates warm transitions in cream, caramel, amber, and burnt tan tones. Depending on application thickness, light cream areas and saturated layers of brown and caramel may develop across the surface. It produces warm and balanced surfaces on rustic tableware, everyday functional forms, and naturally styled designs.

Application and Autumn Effect Notes

• Transitional character: The distribution of the cream, caramel, and burnt tan tones may vary depending on application thickness and firing conditions.
• Brush application: For a saturated and layered surface, applying 3 coats is recommended. Allow the surface to dry completely between coats and apply each coat in a different direction.
• Clay body selection: Cream and caramel transitions appear cleaner on white high-fire clay bodies. Speckled, grogged, or dark-colored clay bodies may produce more rustic surfaces.
• Application thickness: Caramel and brown tones may become more saturated with thicker applications. Lighter cream and tan transitions may develop around thinly coated edges and raised details.
