SG 1240 Statis - Ceramingo Artistic High-Fire Glaze

SG 1240 Statis is an artistic high-fire glaze that creates dark blue reactive variegation over a lilac and purple-toned base. Depending on application thickness, midnight-blue pooling, purple transitions, and dynamic patterns may develop across the surface. It produces deep and dramatic surfaces on modern tableware, decorative forms, and eye-catching designs.

Food Safe: This glaze is suitable for surfaces that come into contact with food when proper application and firing conditions are followed.

Application and Statis Effect Notes

  • Reactive character: The distribution of the lilac, purple, and dark blue tones may vary depending on application thickness, the structure of the form, and firing conditions.
  • Brush application: For a saturated and layered surface, applying 3 coats is recommended. Allow the surface to dry completely between coats and apply each coat in a different direction.
  • Mixing: Mix the product thoroughly before application to distribute the color- and pattern-forming components evenly across the surface. Stir again at regular intervals during application.
  • Clay body selection: Lilac, purple, and blue transitions appear more distinct on white high-fire clay bodies. Speckled, grogged, or dark-colored clay bodies may produce darker and more rustic surfaces.
  • Application thickness: Dark blue pooling and reactive variegation may intensify with thicker applications. Lighter lilac and purple tones may develop around thinly coated edges and raised details.
  • Dipping and pouring: Depending on the required application consistency, 5-10% water may be added. Add water gradually and in controlled amounts.
Important Recommendation: The appearance of artistic and reactive glazes may vary depending on application thickness, the clay body, kiln atmosphere, firing schedule, and cooling rate. Testing on a sample tile before the main application is recommended.
