SG 1215 Nevada - Ceramingo Artistic High-Fire Glaze

SG 1215 Nevada is an artistic high-fire glaze that creates reactive transitions in taupe, sand beige, stone gray and warm brown tones. Depending on the application thickness, broad surfaces may develop a mineral stone appearance, while brown and bronze breaks can emerge along edges and raised details. It produces natural, layered surfaces on tableware, decorative forms and rustic designs.

Food Safe: This glaze is suitable for surfaces that come into contact with food when proper application and firing conditions are followed.

Application and Nevada Effect Notes

  • Reactive transitions: The distribution of taupe, stone gray, sand beige and brown tones may vary depending on the application thickness, form and firing conditions.
  • Brush application: Three coats are recommended for a rich and layered surface. Allow each coat to dry completely and apply every coat in a different direction.
  • Breaking effect: The glaze may become thinner along edges and raised details, revealing brown and bronze tones. Lighter, mineral-like pooling may develop in recessed areas.
  • Clay selection: Sand and stone tones appear cleaner on white high-fire clay bodies. Speckled, grogged or dark clay bodies may produce more rustic surfaces.
  • Fluidity: Due to its reactive character, the glaze may move when applied thickly. Controlled application is recommended near the base, especially on vertical forms.
  • Mixing: Mix the product thoroughly before application to distribute the color- and effect-producing components evenly. Continue mixing periodically during application.
  • Dipping and pouring: Depending on the required consistency, 5-10% water may be added. Add water gradually and in a controlled manner.
Important Recommendation: The appearance of artistic and reactive glazes may vary depending on the application thickness, clay body, kiln atmosphere, firing schedule and cooling rate. Testing on a sample tile is recommended before the main application.
