SG 1127 Effect Matte Green - Ceramingo Artistic High-Fire Effect Glaze

SG 1127 Effect Matte Green is a specialty effect glaze developed for high-fire applications, featuring a matte and reactive surface character. It creates deep turquoise and green tones in central areas while breaking into sand, mustard and rust tones along corners, edges and raised details, producing a dynamic appearance. It is suitable for organic forms, rustic collections and clay works designed to emphasize a handmade character.

Food Safe: This glaze is suitable for surfaces that come into contact with food when proper application and firing conditions are followed.

Mustard and Ochre

Application Notes

  • Reactive surface: The color distribution and breaking effect vary according to the application thickness. Green and turquoise tones may deepen where the glaze pools in recessed areas, while earthy tones may become more prominent on raised and thinly coated areas.
  • Brush application: Allow sufficient drying time between coats. Two or three coats may generally be applied to achieve balanced matteness and effect depth.
  • Clay selection: White high-fire clay bodies may produce more vibrant green and turquoise results. Speckled or dark clay bodies may create more rustic and antique surfaces.
  • Consistency adjustment: Water must be added carefully for spray and dipping applications, and the fluidity should be adjusted according to the application method.
  • Flow allowance: Due to its reactive and fluid character, leave a sufficient unglazed safety margin at the base and protect the kiln shelf from possible glaze runs.
  • Storage: Keep the product tightly sealed at room temperature and away from direct sunlight.
Important Recommendation: The color breaks, matte level and fluidity of effect glazes may vary depending on the kiln atmosphere, firing rate, clay body and application thickness. Testing on a sample tile with your own clay body and firing schedule is recommended before the main application or production.
