S 2260 Transparent is a clear glaze developed to preserve the visibility of the clay body color, decorative elements, and painted details beneath the surface. After firing, it forms a clear, glossy, and glass-like layer that protects the surface. It is particularly suitable for underglaze decoration, patterned work, tableware, and designs where the natural appearance of the clay body is intended to remain visible.

Color Pairing

Its transparent character allows the underlying clay body color and decorations to remain visible. It helps colors appear more vivid and glossy in patterns and applications created with the following tones.

Application Notes

• Coat thickness: The glaze should not be applied excessively thick in order to maintain clarity. Thin and even coats help prevent the underlying patterns from becoming blurred.
• Drying between coats: For brush application, allow each coat to dry completely before applying the next coat.
• Consistency adjustment: For dipping and spray applications, the product should be diluted in a controlled manner to approximately 38°Bé.
• Clay body effect: Transparent glaze does not conceal the color of the clay body beneath it. Therefore, different visual results may occur on white, red, or grogged clay bodies.
• Mixing: Before application, stir the product slowly and thoroughly until any components settled at the bottom are completely dispersed.
• Storage: Keep the container tightly closed and protect the product from excessive heat and freezing conditions. Products that have been stored for an extended period should be thoroughly mixed until homogeneous before reuse.
