Application Notes

• Brush Application: To achieve the characteristic smoky appearance and mottled transitions along the edges, applying 3 coats over a white clay body is recommended. Allow the surface to dry completely between coats and apply each coat in a different direction.
• Clay body selection: The blue-purple base and brown mottling appear more pronounced on white clay bodies. On red, dark, or grogged clay bodies, the color depth and reactive character of the glaze may vary.
• Application thickness: Variations in coat thickness may create dark color pooling in recessed areas and misty transitions across the surface. With excessively thick applications, the glaze may move on vertical surfaces.
• Consistency adjustment: The product is ready to use for brush application. For dipping or spray methods, add 5-10% water gradually and in a controlled manner to achieve the appropriate flow consistency.
