Application Notes

  • Number of Coats: Thin applications with fewer coats can produce a more natural and matte appearance, while increasing the number of coats can create a richer and glossier surface.
  • Brush Application: Applying 3 coats over a white clay body is recommended to achieve the balanced beige tone shown in the visual sample. Allow the surface to dry between coats and apply each coat in a different direction.
  • Clay Body Selection: A clearer and lighter beige tone develops on white clay bodies, while red or grogged clay bodies may produce darker, warmer, and more reactive results.
  • Dipping and Spray Application: Depending on the required application consistency, 5-10% water may be added. Add water gradually and in a controlled manner to adjust the consistency for your application method.
  • Mixing: Mix thoroughly before use to ensure even pigment distribution and balanced surface development.
Important Recommendation: The matte or glossy finish, opacity, and flow characteristics of the glaze may vary depending on application thickness, clay body, kiln firing schedule, and cooling conditions. Testing different application thicknesses on a test tile before the main application is recommended.
