S 1020 Turquoise Green is a glossy, highly fluid artistic low-fire glaze that creates vibrant turquoise and green tones. Depending on application thickness, the structure of the form, and firing temperature, it may produce dynamic transitions and pronounced flowing effects across the surface.

Food Safe: This glaze is suitable for surfaces that come into contact with food when proper application and firing conditions are followed.

Application Notes

  • Product preparation: Before application, mix the product thoroughly until it reaches a uniform consistency.
  • Brush application: Applying 3 coats over white bisque is recommended to achieve a rich surface similar to the visual sample. Allow the surface to dry between coats and apply each coat in a different direction.
  • Spraying and dipping: Depending on the required application consistency, 5-10% water may be added. Add water gradually and carefully.
  • Flow: This glaze has a highly fluid character. Particularly when fired at 1040°C, it may flow significantly toward the base on vertical and sloped forms.
  • Application thickness: Thicker applications may increase color intensity and glaze flow. A thinner application is recommended near the base.
  • Form selection: Flow is more controlled on horizontal forms. On vertical forms, consider the distance the glaze may travel during firing.
  • Clay body selection: Turquoise and green tones appear more vibrant on white clay. Dark or red clay bodies may produce deeper and different tones.
  • Kiln shelf protection: Due to the risk of glaze runs, leave sufficient unglazed clearance around the lower section and use suitable kiln-shelf protection.
Important Recommendation: The appearance of fluid artistic glazes may vary depending on application thickness, clay body, the angle of the form, and the firing schedule. Testing on a sample tile before the main application is recommended, particularly on vertical forms, to evaluate the amount of flow and protect the kiln shelf.
