S 1007 Oil Green - Artistic Low-Fire Glaze

S 1007 Oil Green is an artistic low-fire glaze that combines deep oil-green tones with metallic reflections and artistic transitions. Its metallic character may become more pronounced as application thickness increases; however, due to its fluid nature, it should be applied carefully, particularly on vertical forms.

Not Food Safe: This glaze is not recommended for functional surfaces that come into contact with food, including plates, bowls, mugs, and similar items. It should be used on decorative pieces.

Application Notes

  • Product preparation: Before application, mix the product thoroughly until it reaches a uniform consistency.
  • Brush application: Applying 3 coats over white bisque is recommended to achieve a rich, metallic surface similar to the visual sample. Allow the surface to dry between coats and apply each coat in a different direction.
  • Spraying and dipping: Depending on the required application consistency, 5-10% water may be added. Add water gradually and carefully.
  • Flow: This product is prone to running. It may move toward the base, particularly on vertical and sloped forms.
  • Application thickness: Thicker application may intensify the metallic effects but also increases the risk of glaze runs. Apply more thinly near the base.
  • Metallic character: Thinner areas may produce lighter green tones, while thicker areas may develop darker tones with metallic reflections.
  • Clay body selection: Green and metallic transitions appear more distinct on white clay. Dark or red clay bodies may produce deeper and more rustic results.
  • Storage: Keep the product tightly sealed, away from direct sunlight, and at room temperature.
  • Safety: The use of suitable protective equipment during application is recommended. Keep the product out of reach of children.
Important Recommendation: The appearance of metallic, reactive, and fluid glazes may vary depending on application thickness, clay body, the angle of the form, and the firing schedule. Testing on a sample tile before the main application is recommended, particularly on vertical forms, to evaluate the amount of flow and metallic character.
