Technical Details and Application

Painting and Glazing

Refsan underglaze ready-to-use paints are highly compatible with this bisque. For decorative lighting items, using professional glazes is essential to enhance the product's thermal resistance and aesthetic appeal.

  • Ceramic Application: Fire between 1040°C and 1050°C for a professional, resilient, and non-porous finish.
  • Tile (Çini) Application: Traditional tile glazes maturing at 900°C – 920°C can also be used for detailed, artisanal styles.

Decorative Use with Acrylic Paint

  • Suitable only for display-oriented decorative projects (no kiln firing required).
  • Safety Warning: If finished with acrylic paint, we recommend using LED tealights to avoid heat damage to the paint surface.
  • A protective varnish is recommended post-painting to preserve the artistic design and protect against dust.

Craftsmanship & Material Variations

Fired at 1050°C to reach its sturdy bisque state, each rooster figurine carries the unique hallmarks of artisanal production. Natural variations in thickness, size, or clay tone (white vs. red clay) are hallmarks of authentic handcrafted pottery, ensuring every piece has its own unique character.

Firing Safety & Guidelines

  • Surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned of dust and completely dry before applying glaze.
  • Strictly follow the temperature requirements of the specific glaze type used.
  • Perform a test fire to observe how kiln atmosphere influences the final bisque color.
