Technical Details and Application

Painting and Glazing

Refsan underglaze ready-to-use paints are highly compatible with this pelican-style bisque. A professional glaze will not only enhance the visual depth of your colors but also ensure the vase is structurally sound and waterproof.

  • Ceramic Firing: Fire between 1040°C and 1050°C for a professional, high-gloss, and resilient finish.
  • Tile (Çini) Firing: Traditional tile glazes maturing at 900°C – 920°C are perfect for showcasing refined artisanal patterns.

Decorative Use with Acrylic Paint

  • Suitable only for display-oriented decorative projects (no kiln firing required).
  • Safety Warning: Acrylic-finished items are not waterproof. Do not use for fresh flowers with water if finished with acrylic paint. A protective varnish is highly recommended.

Craftsmanship & Variations

Fired at 1050°C to reach its sturdy bisque state, each Pelican Vase reflects the unique touch of artisanal production. Natural variations in thickness, weight, or clay tone are hallmarks of authentic handcrafted pottery, ensuring every piece has its own character.

Firing Safety & Guidelines

  • Surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned of dust and dried before applying glaze.
  • Strictly follow the temperature requirements of the specific glaze type used.
  • Performing a test fire is suggested to observe how kiln atmosphere influences the final bisque color.
