Technical Details and Application

Painting and Glazing

Refsan underglaze ready-to-use paints can be safely used on both tile and ceramic bisques. The glazing process increases both the aesthetic appearance and the durability of the product.

• Ceramic Products: When glazing ceramic bisque products, you must use ceramic glazes. Ceramic glazes generally develop between 1040°C and 1050°C. This glaze ensures that ceramic products gain a smooth surface and helps them be longer lasting.
• Tile Products: When glazing tile bisque products, you must use tile glazes. Tile glazes are fired at approximately 900°C to 920°C. Tile glazes provide a thin and elegant surface.

Firing

Our products are carefully fired at 1050°C and brought to bisque form. The firing temperature increases the durability of the products and clarifies their colors. Different firing times and temperatures can affect the surface characteristics and aesthetic appearance of the products.

Acrylic Paint

Painting can be done with acrylic paints; however, this process is not suitable for food contact. It is recommended to apply protective varnish after acrylic painting. The acrylic painting process does not require firing and allows the product to be used for decorative purposes. However, these types of paints should not be used on products that will come into contact with health.

Differences in thickness and dimensions can be seen in bisque products produced by casting methods and the pottery wheel. Our products become durable as a result of firing and glazing processes. However, the maintenance and usage conditions of each product type may differ. Especially ceramic products are more durable against external factors but require delicate use. Decorations made with acrylic paint may wear off over time.
