Night Censer Ceramic Bisque

The Night Censer is designed to bring a mystical and calming ambiance to your living space. This high-quality ceramic bisque provides a versatile surface for underglaze painting or artisanal "Çini" art. Perfect for evening relaxation rituals, it features a stable base for tealight candles and a top reservoir for aromatic oils or incense once professionally finished.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This product is delivered in bisque (unglazed) form. To ensure the censer is heat-resistant, non-porous for essential oils, and durable for frequent use, professional glazing and kiln firing are mandatory.

Technical Details and Application

Painting and Glazing

Refsan underglaze ready-to-use paints are highly compatible with this bisque. As the censer is subjected to direct heat from tealights, a professional glazed finish is essential to prevent cracking and allow for easy cleaning of oil residues.

  • Ceramic Application: Fire between 1040°C and 1050°C for a professional, high-gloss, and resilient finish.
  • Tile (Çini) Application: Traditional tile glazes maturing at 900°C – 920°C can also be used for intricate artisanal patterns.

Decorative Use with Acrylic Paint

  • Suitable only for display-oriented decorative projects (no kiln firing required).
  • Safety Warning: Do not use with burning candles or oils if finished with acrylic paint. Acrylics are not heat-resistant and may pose a fire hazard. Use LED candles for decorative purposes only.

Craftsmanship & Variations

Fired at 1050°C to reach its sturdy bisque state, each Night Censer reflects the unique touch of artisanal production. Natural variations in thickness, size, or clay tone are hallmarks of authentic handcrafted pottery.

Firing Safety & Guidelines

  • Surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned of dust and dried before applying glaze.
  • Strictly follow the temperature requirements of the specific glaze type used.
  • Perform a test fire to observe how kiln atmosphere influences the final bisque color.
