Painting and Glazing

Refsan underglaze ready-to-use paints are highly compatible with this bisque. Proper glazing ensures a non-porous finish, protecting the pot from moisture during watering.

• Ceramic Application: Fire between 1040°C and 1050°C for a professional, durable finish.
• Tile (Çini) Application: Traditional tile glazes maturing at 900°C – 920°C can also be used for refined, artisanal patterns.

Decorative Use with Acrylic Paint

• Suitable for display-only decorative projects using acrylic paints (no kiln firing required).
• Safety Warning: Acrylic-finished pots are not food-safe. Avoid direct contact with edible plants if finished with acrylics.
• A protective varnish is recommended post-painting to preserve the design against light moisture.

Craftsmanship & Handcrafted Variations

Fired at 1050°C to reach its sturdy bisque state, each miniature planter is unique. Due to the nature of slip casting and artisanal finishing, minor variations in thickness, size, or clay tone are natural hallmarks of handcrafted pottery.

Firing Safety & Guidelines

• The surface must be thoroughly cleaned and dried before glaze application.
• Strictly adhere to the temperature requirements of the specific glaze used.
• Performing a test fire is suggested to observe how kiln variations influence the final bisque color.
