1003 Transparent Matte Ready-to-Use Low-Fire Glaze

This water-based, ready-to-use glaze forms a transparent, matte glass-like layer when applied to bisque-fired surfaces. It gives surfaces a natural, softly textured, and non-glossy appearance. It allows the underlying patterns, drawings, and clay body color to remain subtly visible while creating a calm and elegant finish. It is ideal for decorative objects, modern tableware, and designer pottery pieces.

Manufactured to professional quality standards.

Note: As the firing temperature increases, the matte texture may disappear and develop into a glossy finish. The formation of a white texture on the fired glaze indicates that the glaze has not fully matured.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Measure the glaze density with a Baumé hydrometer to achieve the ideal consistency. A Baumé range of 35-38°Bé is recommended. If necessary, add clean water to dilute the glaze to the desired consistency. Mix thoroughly after each addition of water. 1003 Matte Glaze can be applied by dipping, brushing, or spraying, which is the most commonly used method. For the best results, apply the glaze in a thin layer to a clean, bisque-fired surface.

Allow the glazed pieces to dry naturally at room temperature. Then fire them at the recommended temperature of (1040-1050°C). The glaze will develop its matte finish when fired within the specified temperature range.
