Marani Amphora Ceramic Bisque
Marani Amphora Ceramic Bisque is an unglazed ceramic bisque product designed for painting, glazing, and personalized decoration projects, featuring a curved body and a silhouette inspired by ancient forms.
Its compact surface provides a suitable application area for underglaze paints, ceramic glazes, ceramic paints, geometric borders, botanical motifs, mythological compositions, and antiquing techniques. The body, neck, and opening can be highlighted with different colors to emphasize the amphora form.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The product is supplied as fired but unglazed ceramic bisque. To make it suitable for holding water, the inner surface must be completely coated with a suitable ceramic glaze, fired again at the temperature recommended for the glaze used, and tested for leaks before use.

Painting and Usage Options

- Continuous bands, repeating motifs, and circular compositions can be created around the body.
- The layered structure of the form can be emphasized by decorating the neck, opening, and body in different colors.
- Antique-style designs can be created using earth tones, patina, and antiquing techniques.
- Different surface finishes can be created using solid-color, matte, glossy, metallic, speckled, or effect glazes.
- Once properly glazed, it can be used with slender-stemmed flowers, small branches, and minimalist arrangements.
- For projects that will not be kiln-fired, acrylic painting, dry-brush, stencil, stone-effect, and metallic-effect techniques can be applied.
DECORATIVE USE WARNING: Products decorated with acrylic paint or decorative varnish should only be used for dry, decorative purposes. They must not be filled with water or washed under running water.
Application and Firing Notes
- Before painting, remove surface dust with a clean, dry brush.
- The firing temperature should be determined according to the technical specifications of the paint and glaze used.
- Care should be taken to prevent excessive glaze from accumulating around the neck, opening, body curves, inner surface, and base.
- Because glaze may pool and run around the tapered sections, the application thickness should be carefully controlled.
- Glaze should be applied evenly to ensure consistent color and texture across the curved body.
- The base must be left unglazed when placing the product in the kiln.
- For products intended to hold water, the inner surface must be glazed completely and without gaps.
- The product should be placed flat and securely on the kiln shelf without touching surrounding pieces.
- After firing, check the surface for cracks, pinholes, sharp edges, or unglazed areas.
WATER USE WARNING: Glazing the product alone does not guarantee that it will be watertight. The correct glaze and firing program must be used, and the product should be filled with water for a specified period to test for leaks before use.
Display and Handling Notes
- The product should be displayed on a flat, stable surface where there is no risk of impact.
- When carrying the product, do not hold it by the opening or neck; support it from the body and base.
- Long or heavy flowers may alter the product’s center of gravity, so arrangements should be prepared carefully to maintain balance.
- The product should not be placed on inclined or vibrating surfaces or near edges.
- Thick-stemmed flowers and branches that are not compatible with the opening diameter should not be forced into the product.
Handcraftsmanship and Product Variations
Due to the ceramic production process, slight variations in dimensions, weight, capacity, surface texture, color tone, neck structure, and body form may occur between products. These differences do not affect use and are a natural result of the production process.
TEST RECOMMENDATION: A small test application is recommended before use to check the compatibility of the paint and glaze with the product, the result they produce on the curved and tapered surfaces, and their firing behavior.
