Technical Details and Application

Painting and Glazing

Refsan underglaze ready-to-use paints are ideal for customizing your dripper. For functional use, selecting a high-quality glaze is crucial for heat retention and hygiene.

• Ceramic Glazing: Recommended firing temperature is between 1040°C and 1050°C. This process creates a non-porous surface that won't absorb coffee oils.
• Tile (Çini) Glazing: For decorative versions, firing at 900°C – 920°C provides an elegant and traditional finish.

Decorative Use with Acrylics

• Acrylic paints can be used for display-only pieces that do not require firing.
• Safety Warning: Acrylic-painted drippers are not food-safe and should never be used to brew coffee or come into contact with hot water.
• Finish with a protective varnish for a lasting decorative appearance.

Handcrafted Quality and Firing

Our drippers are fired at 1050°C to reach the sturdy bisque stage. Due to the casting process, minor variations in thickness and structural details may occur, ensuring each piece is unique. Natural tone differences in the bisque may arise depending on the clay source used (white vs. red clay).

Firing Safety Precautions

• Ensure the dripper is completely clean and dry before glazing, especially the internal spiral ribs.
