GCO 601 Purple is a ready-to-use liquid Ceramingo glaze that brings the calm and elegant appearance of lavender tones to pottery surfaces. Its opaque, highly covering formula evenly conceals the color of the clay body, creating a smooth, uniform and pastel surface. It provides a soft yet eye-catching purple effect on mugs, bowls, plates, breakfast sets and decorative pieces.

Application Notes

  • Brush application: Applying 2 or 3 coats is recommended to achieve an opaque and evenly colored pastel purple surface.
  • Drying between coats: Allow each coat to dry completely before applying the next one to achieve a uniform result.
  • Opaque character: As the number of coats and application thickness increase, the saturation and coverage of the purple tone may become more pronounced.
  • Clay body effect: White clay produces lighter and cleaner purple tones, while the color may appear deeper and more muted on dark or grogged clay bodies.
  • Dipping and spraying: Depending on the application method, add 5-10% water gradually and mix until the product reaches a uniform consistency.
  • Storage: Keep the product in its closed container and away from direct sunlight. If settling occurs, mix thoroughly and strain if necessary.
Important Recommendation: The final purple tone and surface appearance may vary depending on the color of the clay body, application thickness, number of coats and firing schedule. Preparing a test tile under your own kiln conditions is recommended before beginning batch production.
