GCO 101 Dark Red - Ceramingo Artistic Low-Fire Glaze

GCO 101 Dark Red takes its name from the intense red pigment used in its production, yet develops distinctive dusty pink and mauve tones after low-fire firing. This opaque glaze gives surfaces a soft character with its silky, pastel appearance and is suitable for romantic, nostalgic and modern designs.

Food Safe: This glaze is suitable for surfaces that come into contact with food when proper application and firing conditions are followed.

Application Notes

  • Color character: Although the product name includes “Dark Red,” it develops dusty pink and mauve tones rather than red after firing. The product name refers to the color of the pigment used in its production.
  • Brush application: Apply 3 coats over white clay to achieve a rich, uniform and highly covering surface. Allow the surface to dry between coats.
  • Opaque formula: Its high coverage conceals the underlying surface and helps reduce the visibility of brush marks when applied correctly.
  • Consistency adjustment: Water may be added in a controlled manner to achieve the required flow for dipping or spraying applications.
  • Product preparation: Mix the product thoroughly before application to distribute the pigments and glaze components evenly.
Important Recommendation: The final shade of the glaze may vary depending on the application thickness, clay body, kiln firing schedule and cooling conditions. Testing on a sample tile is recommended before the main application.
