GCM 588 Red Brown (Matte Red Brown) - Ceramingo Artistic Low-Fire Glaze

GCM 588 Red Brown is an opaque glaze that brings the warm, natural tones of earth to clay forms with a velvety matte surface. Its combination of deep brown tones and reddish reflections creates a strong surface effect on rustic, modern and naturally styled works. Its silky, low-reflective texture emphasizes the volume, curves and surface details of each form.

Food Safe: This glaze is suitable for surfaces that come into contact with food when proper application and firing conditions are followed.

Warm Terracotta

Application Notes

  • Brush application: Three coats over white clay are recommended to achieve a smooth, opaque and velvety matte surface. Allow each coat to dry and apply every coat in a different direction.
  • Clay selection: The color appears cleaner and more balanced on white clay bodies. Grogged, speckled or red clay bodies may give the glaze tone and matte surface a more rustic character.
  • Dipping and spray application: The product may be too thick for these application methods. Add water gradually and in a controlled manner until the ideal fluidity is achieved.
  • Surface preparation: Matte glazes may make lines, dust and surface irregularities more visible. Remove all dust and foreign material from the bisque surface before application.
  • Preparation: Mix the product thoroughly before use to distribute the color components evenly and achieve a balanced matte level.
  • Application thickness: Thin applications may appear lighter and uneven in some areas. Excessively thick applications may alter the surface texture and increase the risk of cracking or glaze runs.
Important Recommendation: The final color, matte level and surface character may vary depending on the application thickness, coat count, clay body, firing schedule and cooling conditions. Testing on a sample tile under your own working conditions is recommended before the main application.
