GC 1056 Metallic - Artistic Low-Fire Glaze

GC 1056 Metallic is an artistic low-fire glaze that combines anthracite, dark steel, and metallic black tones with an industrial surface effect. It can be used to create bold, modern, and distinctive cast-iron-like surfaces on decorative vases, sculptures, and architectural pottery pieces.

Not Food Safe: This glaze is not recommended for plates, bowls, mugs, or other functional surfaces that come into contact with food. It should be used on decorative pieces only.

Application Notes

  • Brush application: Apply the product directly to a clean, dry bisque surface in smooth, even coats.
  • Number of coats: The effect shown in the visual sample was achieved with 3 coats on white clay. As coat thickness increases, the intensity of the metallic tone and surface reflections may change.
  • Clay body selection: Different clay colors may affect the metallic appearance, anthracite tone, and surface contrast.
  • Dipping and pouring: Add 5-10% water gradually and in a controlled manner to adjust the application consistency.
  • Mixing: Mix the product thoroughly before and during application to distribute the metallic components evenly.
  • Storage: Keep the product in its tightly sealed container at room temperature.
Important Recommendation: The appearance of artistic glazes may vary depending on application thickness, clay body, and firing schedule. Testing on a test tile before the main application is recommended, particularly to assess flow and the final surface result on vertical forms.
