GC 2080 Avşa - Ceramingo Artistic Low-Fire Glaze

GC 2080 Avşa is an artistic Ceramingo glaze with smoky blue-gray tones inspired by the misty sea and tranquil atmosphere of the island from which it takes its name. Its satin-matte surface and denim-effect transitions that deepen in recessed areas give each piece a calm, sophisticated and natural appearance. It can be used to create distinctive surfaces in modern, rustic and marine-inspired designs.

Food Safe: This glaze is suitable for surfaces that come into contact with food when proper application and firing conditions are followed.

Application Notes

  • Brush application: Apply 3 coats over white clay to achieve the characteristic misty blue-gray appearance and denim-effect transitions. Allow each coat to dry completely and apply successive coats in alternating directions.
  • Clay body selection: The color appears fresher, lighter and more balanced on white clay bodies. The depth of the blue-gray shades and intensity of the artistic transitions may vary on red, dark or grogged clay bodies.
  • Application thickness: Variations in coat thickness may cause dark denim shades to intensify in recessed areas and create misty surface transitions. Be aware that excessively thick application may cause the glaze to move on vertical surfaces.
  • Consistency adjustment: The product is ready to use for brush application. For dipping or spraying, add 5-10% water gradually and in a controlled manner to achieve the appropriate flow.
  • Mixing: Stir the product before application and regularly during use to distribute the pigments and glaze components evenly across the surface.
Important Recommendation: The final color, matte level, flow and artistic transitions of the glaze may vary depending on the application thickness, clay body, kiln atmosphere, firing schedule and cooling rate. Testing on vertical sample forms is especially recommended before the main application.
