GC 2071 Milano - Ceramingo Artistic Low-Fire Glaze

GC 2071 Milano is a glossy artistic effect glaze that brings the modern character of Italian design and the distinctive texture of terrazzo surfaces to glazed forms. Brick-red and anthracite particles scattered across an opaque cream and vanilla base create a characteristic stracciatella appearance. Its speckle distribution may vary with every firing, making it suitable for modern tableware, decorative objects and original design collections.

Food Safe: This glaze is suitable for surfaces that come into contact with food when proper application and firing conditions are followed.

Application Notes

  • Brush application: Apply 3 coats over white clay to achieve an opaque cream base with the characteristic red and anthracite speckle distribution. Allow each coat to dry completely and apply successive coats in alternating directions.
  • Clay body selection: The cream base and colored particles appear cleaner and more distinct on white clay bodies. The base shade and speckle contrast may vary on red, dark or grogged clay bodies.
  • Particle distribution: Stir the product regularly before application and during use to distribute the effect particles evenly across the surface. Do not allow the particles to accumulate at the bottom of the container.
  • Consistency adjustment: The product is ready to use for brush application. For dipping or spraying, add 5-10% water gradually and in a controlled manner to achieve the appropriate flow.
  • Application thickness: Variations in coat thickness may affect the coverage of the cream base and the density of the speckles. Be aware that excessively thick application may cause the glaze to move on vertical surfaces.
Important Recommendation: The final color, flow and speckle distribution of the glaze may vary depending on the application thickness, clay body, kiln atmosphere, firing schedule and cooling rate. Testing on vertical sample forms is especially recommended before the main application.
