GC 2050 Lime - Ceramingo Reactive Artistic Low-Fire Glaze

GC 2050 Lime is a glossy, reactive artistic Ceramingo glaze that brings the vibrant green shades of lime to glazed surfaces. Blue-teal transitions develop along the edges and in recessed areas over the lime green base, creating strong contrast and natural depth. Its variable color movement makes it suitable for modern, energetic and eye-catching collections.

Food Safe: This glaze is suitable for surfaces that come into contact with food when proper application and firing conditions are followed.

Application Notes

  • Brush application: Apply 3 coats over white clay to achieve the vibrant lime shade and reactive blue-teal transitions. Allow each coat to dry completely and apply successive coats in alternating directions.
  • Flow control: This glaze is highly fluid. On vertical forms, do not apply the product all the way to the base and leave a sufficient unglazed safety margin to reduce the risk of it running onto and adhering to the kiln shelf.
  • Clay body selection: Lime green and blue-teal transitions appear brighter and more distinct on white clay bodies. The shade and contrast of the reactive transitions may vary on red, dark or grogged clay bodies.
  • Application thickness: Variations in coat thickness directly affect the amount of flow, intensity of the lime shade and definition of the variegated transitions.
  • Consistency adjustment: The product is ready to use for brush application. For dipping or spraying, add 5-10% water gradually and in a controlled manner to achieve the appropriate flow.
  • Mixing: Stir the product before application and regularly during use to distribute the pigments and reactive glaze components evenly across the surface.
Important Recommendation: The final color, amount of flow and intensity of the variegation may vary depending on the application thickness, clay body, kiln atmosphere, firing schedule and cooling rate. Testing on vertical sample forms is especially recommended before the main application.
