GC 2046 Pacific - Ceramingo Reactive Artistic Low-Fire Glaze

GC 2046 Pacific is a glossy, reactive artistic Ceramingo glaze that brings the deep and tranquil blue shades of the ocean to glazed surfaces. Misty blues gather in recessed areas, while dark variegated transitions develop along the edges, giving the surface natural depth and a sculptural appearance. Its artistic character may vary with every firing, making it suitable for decorative vases, relief panels, sculptural forms and original artworks.

Not Food Safe: This glaze is not recommended for functional surfaces of plates, bowls, mugs or similar items that come into contact with food. It should be used on decorative pieces.

Application Notes

  • Brush application: Apply 3 coats over white clay to achieve the deep Pacific shade and characteristic dark variegation. Allow each coat to dry completely and apply successive coats in alternating directions.
  • Clay body selection: Misty blue shades and dark variegated transitions appear clearer and more distinct on white clay bodies. The color depth and reactive character may vary on red, dark or grogged clay bodies.
  • Application thickness: Variations in coat thickness directly affect the color depth and intensity of the artistic transitions. Darker shades may develop in recessed areas, while thinner edges may produce lighter tones.
  • Consistency adjustment: The product is ready to use for brush application. For dipping or spraying, add 5-10% water gradually and in a controlled manner to achieve the appropriate flow.
  • Mixing: Stir the product before application and regularly during use to distribute the pigments and reactive glaze components evenly across the surface.
Important Recommendation: The final color, flow and artistic transitions of the glaze may vary depending on the application thickness, clay body, kiln atmosphere, firing schedule and cooling rate. Testing on vertical sample forms is especially recommended before the main application.
