GC 2045 Kiwi - Artistic Low-Fire Glaze

GC 2045 Kiwi is a glossy, reactive artistic glaze that brings the fresh, energetic green tones of kiwi fruit to pottery surfaces. Dark green variegation developing around details, edges, and contoured areas gives the surface organic depth. Its refreshing color creates a vivid appearance on decorative objects and artistic pottery projects.

Not Food Safe: This glaze is not recommended for plates, bowls, mugs, or other functional surfaces that come into contact with food. It should be used on decorative pieces only.

Application Notes

  • Brush application: Applying 3 coats on white clay is recommended to achieve the characteristic Kiwi effect. Allow each coat to dry and brush each new coat in a different direction.
  • Effect control: The reactive character becomes more pronounced in thicker areas. Different green transitions may develop in recessed, raised, and contoured sections of the form.
  • Product preparation: Mix or shake the product thoroughly before use to distribute the pigments and reactive components evenly.
  • Clay body selection: White clay produces brighter, clearer green tones. Color and edge transitions may vary on red, dark, or grogged clay bodies.
  • Dipping and spray application: Adjust the glaze consistency carefully according to the application method. Excessive dilution may reduce color saturation and the reactive appearance.
Important Recommendation: The appearance of artistic and reactive glazes may vary depending on application thickness, clay body, firing schedule, and cooling rate. Testing on a test tile before the main application is recommended.
