GC 1055 Antique Green - Ceramingo Artistic Low-Fire Glaze

GC 1055 Antique Green is a special artistic glaze that combines moss-green shades with a smoky aged effect. Dark variegation that develops across recessed and raised areas gives the surface the appearance of aged stone or oxidized metal. Its finish, ranging between semi-matte and satin, makes it suitable for rustic, natural and antique-inspired collections.

Food Safe: This glaze is suitable for surfaces that come into contact with food when proper application and firing conditions are followed.

Application Notes

  • Brush application: Apply 3 coats over white clay to achieve the characteristic aged depth and moss effect. Allow the surface to dry between coats.
  • Effect control: The intensity of the antique transitions may vary as the number of coats and application thickness increase. Glaze pooling in recessed areas may create dark and pronounced variegation.
  • Clay body selection: Green shades appear clearer on white clay bodies. Red, black or dark-colored clay bodies may produce heavier and more rustic results.
  • Dipping and spraying: Depending on the required application consistency, 5-10% water may be added. Add water gradually and in a controlled manner.
  • Preparation: Mix the product thoroughly before application to distribute the pigments evenly and ensure a balanced satin surface.
Important Recommendation: The appearance of artistic glazes may vary depending on the application thickness, clay body, kiln atmosphere and firing schedule. Testing on a vertical sample tile is recommended before the main application to evaluate the glaze flow and color transitions.
