GC 1048 Green Red - Ceramingo Artistic Low-Fire Glaze

GC 1048 Green Red is a fluid artistic glaze that develops soft pink and red variegation over a fresh mint-green base. Color transitions change across the recessed, raised and edge areas of the form, creating a distinctive surface with every application. Its glossy, silky appearance gives pottery pieces a fresh, modern and artistic sense of depth.

Food Safe: This glaze is suitable for surfaces that come into contact with food when proper application and firing conditions are followed.

Application Notes

  • Brush application: Applying 3 coats over white clay is recommended to achieve the characteristic green, pink and red variegation. Allow the surface to dry between coats and apply each coat in a different direction.
  • Flow control: Due to its fluid character, the glaze may move downward on vertical surfaces and in thick applications. Apply more thinly near the base to prevent glaze from pooling around the lower part of the form.
  • Clay body selection: Pastel tones appear fresher and more pronounced on white casting and pottery clay bodies. The intensity of the green and red variegation may change on different clay colors.
  • Dipping and spraying: Add 5-10% water gradually and in a controlled manner to achieve the appropriate flow. Determine the dilution ratio on a test tile.
  • Preparation: Shake or mix the product thoroughly before use to distribute the pigments evenly and produce balanced color transitions.
  • Application thickness: Colors may appear lighter and calmer in thin applications. Red variegation, flow and surface movement may become more pronounced in thick applications.
Important Recommendation: The glaze’s final color balance and flow character may vary depending on application thickness, number of coats, clay body, kiln firing schedule and cooling conditions. Before the main application, testing under your own working conditions is recommended, particularly on a vertical test tile to evaluate the amount of flow.
