Technical Details and Application

Painting and Glazing

Refsan underglaze ready-to-use paints are highly compatible with this bisque. Proper glazing not only enhances the visual depth of the design but also ensures the longevity of the ceramic's detailed structure.

  • Ceramic Application: Fire between 1040°C and 1050°C for a professional, high-gloss, and resilient finish.
  • Tile (Çini) Application: Traditional tile glazes maturing at 900°C – 920°C can also be used for delicate and colorful styles.

Decorative Use with Acrylic Paint

  • Suitable only for display-oriented decorative projects (no kiln firing required).
  • Safety Warning: Acrylic-painted pieces are not suitable for health-sensitive contact or food display.
  • A protective varnish is recommended post-painting to preserve the artistic design and simplify cleaning.

Craftsmanship & Handcrafted Variations

Fired at 1050°C to reach its sturdy bisque state, each Elephant piece reflects the unique touch of artisanal production. Natural variations in thickness, size, or clay tone are hallmarks of authentic handcrafted pottery, ensuring every piece has its own unique character.

Firing Safety & Guidelines

  • Surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned of dust and completely dry before applying glaze.
  • Strictly follow the temperature requirements of the specific glaze type used.
  • Perform a test fire to observe how kiln variations influence the final bisque color.
