Application Notes

• Coat application: Applying 3 coats is recommended. As application thickness increases, color intensity and transparency may vary.
• Coat effect: Each coat may produce a different level of color intensity. Thinner applications may appear lighter and more transparent, while thicker applications may produce a richer appearance.
• 995°C firing: When fired at approximately 995°C, the glaze may develop a darker blue-green character with a glossy surface in muted sea blue-green tones. With a 3-coat application, the semi-transparent appearance may be retained.
• 1220°C firing: At approximately 1220°C, there may be no significant color change; however, glaze movement may increase and surface issues may occur.
• Temperature effect: Different firing temperatures between 995°C and 1220°C may affect color intensity, gloss, and glaze movement across the surface.
• High-fire behavior: At higher temperatures, the glaze may become more fluid and deformation may occur on the form. Controlled application is recommended on vertical and delicate forms.
• Transparency: The semi-transparent character of the product may allow the underlying clay body color and surface texture to remain partially visible.
• Clay body selection: Blue-green tones may appear more pronounced on light-colored clay bodies. Results may vary on darker or iron-rich clay bodies.
• Form effect: Glaze pooling in recessed and horizontal areas may produce richer color and increased gloss.
• Food use: This glaze can be used on food-contact surfaces provided that no cracking, crazing, or similar surface defects occur in the fired glaze.
• Test application: Especially for high-fire applications, preparing a test tile on the intended clay body is recommended to evaluate deformation and surface behavior.
